Administrator Institute

A one-day training that will provide information about the significant role administrators fulfill in effective RTI implementations.  Presenters will share research related to effective leadership and information regarding the importance of quality decision-making.  A panel of leaders from Advanced Technical Assistance schools will share information regarding their experiences in this process.

  • A maximum of 80 people
  • A minimum of 20 people must register for the training to be held

Implementing RTI at the Intermediate & Secondary Level

A one –day training that will provide individuals and teams of educators with information about the RTI process as it relates to the intermediate and secondary level. Presenters will explain the importance of focusing on the system when implementing RTI and will also share “lessons learned.”  Presenters will share research that supports the components of RTI.  The purpose of this training will be to provide content on key features of RTI that include: assessing the effectiveness of the system and how to begin to develop a comprehensive profile of their system at the intermediate and secondary level, scientific research-based instruction and intervention, and systems level data based decision making. 

Who should attend?

  • Administrators; Counselors; Curriculum Directors; Department Chairs; School Improvement representatives

Universal Technical Assistance

Technical assistance will be provided to leadership teams from ANY interested schools in Nebraska.  Teams will get assistance in answering questions related to implementation of RTI, feedback on RTI implementation documents, and receive training in RTI related content.

Who may participate?

  • Representative school building or district teams from any Nebraska school
  • Team must include an administrator and representatives from general and special education
  • If individual school building teams attend, there must be representation from the district level in attendance with the building team

Minimum and Maximum Numbers for Attendance

  • Up to 20 teams statewide
  • Teams may have no more than 5 members in attendance (districts with several elementary schools can bring larger teams)
  • Registration will be available on a first-come, first-served basis

How often will teams attend?

  • 2 days (1 in fall and 1 in spring)

Technical Assistance


Advanced Technical Assistance – Continuing Schools

School leadership teams participating in NE RTI Consortium Advanced Technical Assistance during the 2011-2012 school year will be invited to participate. Each advanced TA school will be assigned a member of the RTI Consortium Implementation Support Team (IST) to provide technical assistance during the 2012-2013 school year.  Support will be provided through regional training and onsite and distance technical assistance. 

Advanced TA schools commit to the following training and technical assistance:

  • Participate in an onsite visit in the Fall. During this visit, your TA provider will:
    • Partner with your administrator to conduct observations of core instruction and/or interventions
    • Review elements of your RTI implementation plan

** Information from your onsite visit to guide the focus of training, technical assistance, and action plan development

  • Work with your TA provider to utilize information from your initial onsite visit to develop your school’s training and technical assistance plan
  • Participate in onsite and distance (e.g., phone conference, Skype, etc.) TA support as determined by the TA plan developed in collaboration with your TA provider
  • Participate in regional trainings.  Eligibility for regional trainings will be based on your action plan goals.

Advanced Technical Assistance – First Year Schools

A number of school leadership teams that participated in NE RTI Consortium Universal TA training will be invited to participate in advanced training and technical assistance – first year. First-year advanced TA schools will be assigned an IST member to provide technical assistance during the 2012-2013 school year.

First-year TA schools commit to the following training and technical assistance:

  • Participate in an initial onsite visit in the Fall during which your TA provider will:
    • Partner with your administrator to conduct observations of core instruction and/or interventions
    • Review elements of your RTI implementation plan

** Information from your initial onsite visit to guide the focus of training, technical assistance, and action plan development

  • Participate in onsite and distance (e.g., phone conference, Skype, etc.) TA support as determined by your TA plan
  • Work with your TA provider to utilize information from your onsite visit to develop your school’s technical assistance plan
  • Attend a three-part regional training at which your team will receive support related to RTI action planning, development and implementation of fidelity checks, ensuring explicit instruction and active student engagement, and development and implementation of decision rules and intervention systems
